Reigniting industry leaders
Project Overview
Challenge
AIGA is a thought leader in the design industry and we had the amazing opportunity to rebrand their company and create an entirely new website. While AIGA began as an association for graphic designers, they have grown to provide design tools for much wider audience; however, they felt their branding, messaging, and website did not match their evolution. In order to remain top of the field and retain memberships, it was essential their website fit their new identity and had a wider reach.
Solution
I worked to help develop new page layouts, taxonomy, and content types. In order to successfully do this, we had to evaluate all of their current content, talk to users, and determine the best way to reorganize it. We recommended areas where their content could grow and places where it was maybe best to let it fade out. I also helped to apply the new branding guidelines to stylized components and templates.
I also took full ownership of the QC role, testing and writing bug tickets. With this role, I learned a lot about website performance, responsiveness, and accessibility - becoming one of the company’s leads in these areas. I also helped to develop a new process to make requirement writing, acceptance criteria, and QC testing more efficient and fun.
